Revelle Balmain was 22 years old when she disappeared on Nov. 5, 1994 from the Kingsford area of Sydney, New South Wales (NSW) Police previously said<\/a>. The release also confirmed that officials were offering an around $702,000 reward ($1 million AUD) for any information that could help solve the case.<\/p>\nAfter the case went cold for decades, NSW Deputy State Coroner Joan Baptie has now ruled that Balmain is dead, 9 News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\nOn the night she vanished, the model had been working as an escort in Sydney. Both King and Stanojevic, who have been named as persons of interest, have denied involvement in the case, the Sydney Morning Herald<\/em> stated. The findings were handed down at the NSW Coroners Court on Friday, July 31.<\/p>\n“They either knew who was responsible for Balmain’s disappearance or were somehow involved,” Baptie said, per the outlet.<\/p>\n
Despite Baptie claiming the former couple’s evidence was “littered” with inconsistencies, there was not enough evidence to refer the case to the prosecution office, the newspaper and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation<\/a> (ABC) reported.<\/p>\nBaptie did, however, refer the matter back to NSW Police’s unsolved homicide unit for further investigation, the Sydney Morning Herald <\/em>noted.
