Two people have been killed and four wounded in a Russian rocket attack on the city of Izyum in eastern Ukraine, Kharkiv Governor Oleh Syniehubov said on Telegram on Friday.<\/p>\n
A fire covering 400 square metres was being extinguished, he said.<\/p>\n
According to the Izyum military administration, Russian forces used multiple rocket launchers firing cluster munitions, which are particularly dangerous for civilians.<\/p>\n
Izyum lies around 30 kilometres from the front line. The city came under Russian control for several months following the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and was liberated in September 2022.<\/p>\n
In the neighbouring Sumy region, 10 people were wounded in a drone attack on a market.<\/p>\n
Central Odessa football stadium hit<\/h2>\n
In southern Ukraine, a Russian strike hit the Chornomorets football stadium – home to the top-flight club of the same name – in the centre of the port city of Odessa.<\/p>\n
A hole was torn in the stadium roof and the stands were damaged, one day before a cup match was due to be played there. One woman was wounded, according to regional authorities.<\/p>\n
Ukraine’s Air Force had warned of incoming Russian missiles before the attack.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
