US restaurant brand Chipotle Mexican Grill is set to open its first restaurant in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), later this month. <\/p>\n
The move marks the brand’s entry into the Saudi market and the wider region via a partnership with Alshaya Group, an international franchise retail operator. <\/p>\n
The launch extends Chipotle’s ongoing expansion with Alshaya Group across the Middle East. <\/p>\n
Since 2024, the company has opened 16 restaurants in the region: seven in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), seven in Kuwait, and two in Qatar. <\/p>\n
Alshaya Group hospitality division president Jeff Kellen said: “Since its launch in the region over two years ago, Chipotle has surpassed all expectations to become one of our most loved brands. <\/p>\n
“Knowing how eagerly consumers in KSA have awaited its arrival, we look forward to meeting their expectations with Chipotle’s delicious, fresh, and real-ingredient menu.” <\/p>\n
The new outlet will be located at Sidra, and will offer Chipotle’s menu that includes burritos, bowls, quesadillas, salads and tacos. <\/p>\n
Chipotle said that the Riyadh restaurant opening is in line with its international growth strategy. <\/p>\n
Chipotle chief business development officer Nate Lawton said: “We’re pleased to introduce Chipotle to guests in Saudi Arabia for the first time. <\/p>\n
“Expanding into the KSA advances our international growth strategy and provides a compelling opportunity to serve one of the Middle East’s most dynamic consumer markets. <\/p>\n

The restaurant brand is also increasing its presence in other international markets, with more than 80 company-owned restaurants in Canada, 21 in the UK, six in France and two in Germany. <\/p>\n
Globally, Chipotle operates over 4,200 restaurants and plans to open between 350 and 370 new locations in 2026. <\/p>\n
