Sept 15 (Reuters) – Spain’s European Union-harmonised 12-month inflation rate rose \u200cto 4.6% in August, up \u200cfrom 3.9% in the period through July, \u200bfinal data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE) showed on Tuesday. <\/p>\n
The INE’s final data was above the \u200c4.5% forecast \u2060in both the flash reading released two weeks ago \u2060and the average estimate from analysts polled by Reuters. <\/p>\n
Core inflation, which \u200bstrips out \u200bvolatile fresh \u200bfood and energy \u200cprices, fell to 2.9% in the 12 months through August, slightly down from 3.0% in the period through July, the INE said. <\/p>\n
Spanish national \u200cconsumer prices also \u200brose 4.3% in \u200bthe 12 \u200bmonths through August, up \u200cfrom a 3.6% increase \u200bin the \u200bperiod through July, and in line with the 4.3% rate \u200binitially measured \u200cby the INE two weeks \u200bago. <\/p>\n
