MSC Cruises Unveils Massive ‘Open-Air Theme Park’ on New Ship

MSC Cruises has unveiled a variety of new features on board its newest vessel sure to please thrill-seeking passengers. 

On Monday, April 27, the Geneva-based cruise line announced plans to expand its award-winning lineup of family entertainment on its new MSC World Asia cruise ship, which is scheduled to debut in winter 2026.

At the heart of the vessel will be the Family Aventura District, which the company describes in a press release as “a vibrant hub designed to bring families together.” The area will feature a range of dazzling attractions, including the Doremiland kids club, The Clubhouse and The Harbour, “an open-air theme park with thrilling attractions and new night-time experiences.” 

Said to be inspired by Asia’s most dynamic cities, The Harbour will offer attractions and experiences for all ages. Guests can reach for the skies on the Adventure Trail rope course, take a trip down the longest dry slide at sea or even take a ride on Europe’s first over-water swing, Cliffhanger. Younger guests can also enjoy a new on-board playground, The Play Deck.

After the sun sets, the space will transform into a glowing outdoor theme park with extended evening programs. 

Meanwhile, The Clubhouse will be an active multi-use space with a dedicated LEGO Family Zone, roller skating, bumper cars, sports and wellness sessions led by professional coaches. The venue, filled with nostalgic vibes, will also host refreshed versions of MSC’s beloved entertainment programming like Guinness World Records, MasterChef at Sea Juniors and the Doremix Family Disco. Out of Control, a brand-new high-energy experience where participants compete against digitally timed obstacle challenges, will also take place in the space.

Doremiland, a 10,000-square-foot space on deck 19, will have dedicated spaces for every age group. There will be a Baby Club developed with infant brand Chicco, as well as junior and teens clubs with the latest in gaming experiences, including a full arcade and MSC Formula Racer simulator.

Elsewhere, Luna Park will host three interactive game shows. The company says the space is one of its most “innovative, interactive and versatile” venues. They say the entire floor will transform into an interactive area, allowing guests to compete with one another in a first-of-its-kind experience.

“On MSC World Asia, every experience has been designed to surprise, inspire and spark imagination,” Matteo Mancini, MSC Cruises’ family entertainment development director said in a press release. “We’ve pushed creativity to new limits, and we’re confident guests will leave genuinely amazed.”

The ship, scheduled to embark on its first cruise in December, will operate seven-night Mediterranean itineraries. It will visit multiple highly sought-after destinations like Barcelona, Marseille, Messina, Civitavecchia for Rome, Naples and Valletta.
