Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has warned that Russia could escalate the war in Ukraine and provoke NATO, writing on X on Saturday after a conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte that “the escalation on Russia’s part is advancing.”
“As I have already warned, escalation on Russia’s part is advancing,” Tusk wrote. The next six months would be decisive, he said. “We must not rule out provocations by Russia against one of the NATO members.”
A visit by CIA director John Ratcliffe to Moscow on Wednesday sparked speculation worldwide.

US media reported that Ratcliffe had warned Russia against attacking one of the NATO member states. Asked about the reports, the Kremlin denied them and pointed the finger at the West.
Poland is one of the most important political and military supporters of Ukraine, which has been invaded by Russia. The country also feels threatened by Moscow itself and is massively increasing its defence spending.
