Russian drone hits Ukrainian spy agency HQ in Kiev

A Russian drone struck the main headquarters of Ukraine’s SBU intelligence service in central Kiev on Friday, President Volodymyr Zelensky posted on social media.

“The drone was aimed directly at the office of the SBU head in this building,” the Ukrainian leader wrote on Telegram in the mid-afternoon. At least five people were injured in the attack, according to authorities in the capital.

Zelensky said he had instructed SBU chief Oleksandr Poklad to respond with a “mirror” attack on Russia when it could be organized.

More than four and a half years after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, reciprocal drone attacks occur daily in the neighbouring countries.
