Two people were injured in Saudi Arabia after a projectile fired by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militia struck the south-west of the country, state media reported late on Saturday.
The attack also damaged a mosque, other buildings and vehicles, the state news agency SPA reported, citing the civil defence authorities.
The incident occurred in Jazan, a region bordering Yemen. Authorities did not specify what type of projectile was used, saying only that it had been fired by the Houthis.
The Houthis are fighting Yemen’s internationally recognized government, which is backed by Saudi Arabia. The years-long conflict has flared up again amid the Iran war.
