Gotta catch some Zs! Pokémon fans have a chance to sleep like a Snorlax inside an immersive hotel shaped like a Poké Ball.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the beloved media franchise, luxury Japanese hospitality brand NOT A HOTEL teamed up with the creative forces behind Pokémon to bring a truly unique lodging experience to life.

Just like the creatures, guests who stay at this Tomakomai City, Hokkaido, accommodation will spend the night inside a ball-shaped structure, inspired by the devices used to catch, transport and store wild or trained Pokémon.

The roughly 10-foot round hotel is situated on the shores of a lake. The interior includes a circular bed, air conditioning, a circular monitor displaying images of Pokémon and a large, curved acrylic window that allows guests to gaze upon the natural scenery of Hokkaido.

The Poké Ball also includes a number of nods and references to fan-favorite Pokémon, like colored tiles in the adjacent bathroom inspired by Snorlax — a Pokémon known for sleeping constantly and eating large quantities of food.

Another exciting feature comes directly from NOT A HOTEL’s smart home team. Guests are able to select their favorite Pokémon on an iPad installed in the room, and the interior lighting effects will change to match the creature of their choosing.

The collaboration also marks the third anniversary of Pokémon Sleep, a mobile game that allows users to track and record sleep simply by placing a smart device on a pillow. When users wake up, they are greeted by Pokémon who share similar sleep styles.

Rather than accepting reservations from the public, NOT A HOTEL will choose 10 pairs of guests from a social media lottery.

Eligible participants are encouraged to follow the official Pokémon Sleep account on X, download the Pokémon Sleep app, make a post related to the campaign and complete an application available online.
