Two stabbing cases in Tel Aviv, Ramle leave three wounded as police arrest suspects in both attacks

Overnight on Friday, in a separate incident, a mother and her daughter were stabbed outside their home in Ramle’s Jawarish neighborhood.

A Holon man in his 20s was indicted on Thursday for allegedly stabbing another man at a Tel Aviv hotel in an attack that police suspect was motivated by a romantic dispute, Israel Police said.

The Tel Aviv District Police Prosecution Unit filed the indictment against the suspect on a charge of wounding while armed, along with a request that he remain in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings.

The victim, also in his 20s, was moderately wounded in the stabbing and was taken for medical treatment.

According to police, the incident was allegedly linked to a romantic dispute after the victim entered into a relationship with the suspect’s former partner.

The indictment states that the suspect arrived at the Royal Beach Hotel on Herbert Samuel Street in Tel Aviv carrying a sharp object that he had brought with him in advance. He then allegedly stabbed the victim in the abdomen and hand.

After receiving a report of the stabbing, officers from the Lev Tel Aviv Police Station in the Yarkon District arrived at the scene and launched an investigation, as well as extensive searches in the surrounding area.

Police said the suspect’s detention was extended several times during the investigation. On Thursday, prosecutors filed the indictment against him for wounding while armed and requested that he remain in custody until the end of the legal proceedings.

Mother, daughter stabbed in Ramle

Overnight on Friday, in a separate incident, a mother and her daughter were stabbed outside their home in Ramle’s Jawarish neighborhood.

Police suspect that the attack stemmed from a dispute within the family. The father, a man in his 40s, was arrested shortly afterward on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

Magen David Adom received a report of the stabbing at its 101 emergency call center at 10:51 p.m. Paramedics and other medical personnel dispatched to the scene treated the 19-year-old woman and her 42-year-old mother, both of whom had suffered penetrating wounds.

The two women were evacuated to Shamir Medical Center.

Police said the daughter’s condition was classified as serious and the mother’s as moderate. MDA, however, said that both women were evacuated to the hospital in moderate condition.

Police suspect that a family dispute was behind the stabbing. The family is known to authorities due to prolonged internal blood feuds between different factions within the family, disputes that have previously led to serious incidents of violence.

Ramle police opened an investigation into the stabbing, while forensic investigators collected evidence from the scene in an effort to reconstruct the events that preceded the attack.

As part of the investigation, police arrested the father of the family on suspicion of involvement. Investigators are examining his alleged role in the incident, as well as the precise circumstances and background that led to the stabbing.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Petah Tikva Magistrate’s Court on Sunday, where police are expected to request an extension of his detention in light of developments in the investigation and the evidence collected.
