Zelensky says Russia killed four civilians in Kherson ‘drone safari’

The Ukrainian authorities say Russia has killed at least four people and injured five others in a drone attack on a minibus in the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described it on Wednesday as a brutal “safari” in which Russia had deliberately hunted people down.

In a Telegram post, he said that Russia’s behaviour had “long since crossed the boundaries of what a normal person can even imagine.”

“It is clear that this was a civilian bus,” Zelensky wrote. “This is everyday life in the Ukrainian regions near the front line.”

He also published several photos of the destroyed bus with pools of blood. In Kherson in particular, the authorities repeatedly report such “drone safaris.”

Zelensky criticized Ukraine’s allies,, saying they are “still hesitating to provide additional supplies of protective equipment,” and called for pressure to be “brought to bear on the aggressor. Those defending life need support.”

New aid packages and further sanctions against Russia are required, he added.

Russia has been waging a full-scale war against Ukraine for four and a half years. The country is defending itself against the invasion with Western help.
