Germany’s most-wanted woman was sentenced after more than three decades on the run.
Daniela Klette, a former member of the far-left German militant group Red Army Faction, was found guilty of aggravated robbery, violating weapons laws and other offenses, BBC reported on Wednesday, May 27.
The 67-year-old carried out her crimes over a 17-year period, between 1999 and 2016, according to the outlet. She was captured in February 2024, living in Berlin under the fake name Claudia, with a foreign passport.
A judge sentenced Klette to 13 years behind bars for her crimes. Her alleged accomplices, Burkhard Garweg and Ernst-Volker Staub, however, have yet to be captured.

“They carried out their robberies with a division of labour and in a highly conspiratorial manner,” Judge Lars Engelke said, per The Guardian.
Upon her arrest, detectives uncovered a slew of wigs, forged documents, weapons, and more than $250,000 in cash, inside her apartment.
Her alleged crimes while a member of the now-disbanded RAF — including three politically motivated attacks — will not be charged as the statute of limitations has expired, Counter Extremism Project head Hans-Jakob Schindler told BBC.
Schindler branded Klette “a kind of grandmother heroine for the extreme left in Berlin.”
